Our goal is simple: to create an event where young people are recognised, empowered, and celebrated, while bringing whānau together through a shared experience of connection, participation, and community pride.

Register Your Rangatahi
Registration is free for all rangatahi aged 12–24 years. Every registered rangatahi becomes an official competitor in the Rangatahi Prize Pool and is encouraged to invite their whānau to stand alongside them throughout the day.
When a rangatahi registers, their whānau is automatically entered into the Whānau Championship, where they can support their young person by participating in fun mini games and challenges to earn points for their team. This creates a day where everyone has a role to play—whether competing on the beach, cheering from the sidelines, or taking part in family activities.
Keeping rangatahi at the centre of the event is what makes this competition unique. Rather than simply participating, they are the leaders behind the planning, organisation, and delivery of the day. From coordinating registrations and welcoming participants to helping run activities and the prize giving, they are developing confidence, communication, teamwork, leadership, and event management skills in a real-world setting.

How the Whānau Championship Works
The Whānau Championship is all about coming together to support our rangatahi as they lead the day. When you register a rangatahi (aged 12–24 years) into the competition, your whānau is automatically entered into the Whānau Championship Prize Pool at no additional cost.
Throughout the day, whānau members will have the opportunity to participate in a range of fun mini games, challenges, and activities designed to encourage teamwork, laughter, and connection. Every activity completed earns valuable points for your whānau team. At the end of the competition, the points earned through these challenges are combined with your rangatahi's participation to determine the Whānau Champions.
The Whānau Championship isn't about catching the biggest fish—it's about showing up, encouraging one another, creating memories, and celebrating the leadership of our rangatahi. Every challenge completed is another opportunity to strengthen whānau bonds, support our young people, and compete together for fantastic sponsored prizes and vouchers.
